Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Barpeta has organised the National Campaign on “AYUSH Apke Dwar” under “Azadi ka Mahotsav” held at KVK Barpeta on 1st September at KVK Training Hall in a befitting manner. At first an Aonla plant was planted by Sri Tej Prasad Bhusal, Deputy Commissioner, Barpeta District in the KVK campus. Before starting the inaugural session visited the campus and other demonstration units of KVK, Barpeta. The introductory address was given by Dr. Arup Kumar Deka, Senior Scientist and Head necessitating medicinal plant in our daily life. Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner Sir discussed on different medicinal plant which has been used by the past. Soon after the delivery of the lecture given by Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner sir, the various medicinal plant like aonla, pipoli, aloevera etc were distributed to farmers. All total 700 plants were distributed among farmers.
The campaign came to the end with a vote of thanks from Dr. Swapna Choudhury, SMS (Community Science). After tea break technical session was started with the topic on Medicinal Plants for Atma Nirvar Bharat given by Lipika Nath, SMS(Horticulture)
